questions

01

What is Nixa.io?

Nixa.io is a curated job platform. Our main goal is to connect you, the developer, with companies that are looking to hire permanent remote developers. As a developer on Nixa.io, you will be matched towards remote opportunities that fit your profile and it's up to you to decide if the opportunity is a fit or not. Since we've already done a thorough assessment of your skills and preferences, you are able to jump straight to final interviews with the companies of your choice. This way we save you a lot of time and hassle - and make it possible for you to sign an offer in just 2 weeks.
02

Whom is Nixa.io addressed to?

Nixa.io is a platform for developers that are either actively or passively looking for remote work. No matter if you are an experienced remote developer or a developer looking to transition to remote work - we will make sure to provide you with the magical combination of remote work and job stability through long-term/permanent contracts.
03

How do I become a part of the platform?

You need to start by registering your profile on our website. After filling the form, you will have to successfully complete our pre-qualification process before you are accepted into the talent pool.
04

How does the pre-qualification process look?

The pre-qualification process is quite simple. You only have to complete and pass the process once to get accepted. The first step is a technical challenge via Hackerrank (max 2 hours). If you pass the technical test, we will invite you to complete a short video call with someone from our team (30 min). In this call, we'll provide more information about how the platform works and what to expect next. We are also curious to learn more about your skills, experience, motivation, and preferences. After the video call, you'll be accepted to the platform and get access to your profile. We'll start to match you with companies that are looking to hire your type of profile.
05

Can I join even though I'm not actively looking for a job?

Yes, we take note of your preferences and availability before we bring you onboard the platform. You don't have to be actively looking for an opportunity or to be between jobs/projects in order to become a member.
06

Could you share more details about the technical challenge?

We have prepared 3 different challenges (front-end, full-stack, and back-end) and it's up to you to decide which one you want to complete based on your background and the type of positions you want to qualify for. We only request you to complete one of the tests. All of the tests are built to assess skills that are considered crucial for companies hiring through Nixa.io and each test is built up by different coding assignments that you have to complete within 120 minutes. Although the tasks are related to problem-solving skills - they resemble real-life challenges or scenarios for developers.
07

What happens if I fail the tech challenge?

You will be allowed to re-take the challenge after a 3 month cooling period.
08

Where can I see the current opportunities open on the platform?

Unfortunately, we don't have a public listing of available jobs on our site yet, but we are actively working on it and, hopefully, we will be able to provide something in this regard soon.
09

Where can I see my profile?

Once you are accepted into the platform, you will receive an email with a link to review your profile. You are allowed to make changes to this profile if some of the information is incorrect. Remember to keep your profile and availability up to date as that will increase your chances of matching with a company.
10

What type of companies hire through Nixa.io?

We work with everything from small start-up companies, to scale-ups and large international corporations. Until now, we have been mostly focused on the European market, so most of our current partners operate in an EU/CET time zone. However, as we continue to grow, we expect to break into new markets and eventually offer opportunities outside EU/CET.
11

What type of opportunities can I access through your platform?

We focus on full-time, permanent, remote opportunities. While we do not exclude the possibility of short-term or part-time assignments from time to time, we do expect those to be exceptions and thus far more rare on our platform. At the moment we focus on engineering roles only and most of the opportunities on our platform are either front-end, full-stack, or back-end related. We try to keep an inclusive approach and do not discriminate on any technology or experience level.
12

Will I owe Nixa.io anything if I should land a job through your service?

The platform and the services that we provide are completely free for you as a developer. You can sit back and relax a freemium service :)

What is Nixa.io?

Nixa.io is a platform that offers a fast and easy way to hire remote developers. All developers on our platform are pre-qualified through technical tests and interviews to make sure that they have the skills needed to succeed. All candidates are looking for permanent remote opportunities and will be hired directly by your company.
02

Why should I use Nixa.io?

On average, it takes 6 months for a company to hire a software developer. It’s getting harder and harder for companies to attract and hire technical talent and the current tech talent shortage is creating fundamental problems across all industries. We have built Nixa.io to solve this problem by giving companies fast and easy access to a global talent pool of remote developers. By pre-qualifying the candidates in advance, we make it possible for companies to jump straight to final interviews and reduce the time to hire from 6 months to 2 weeks only, without compromising quality.
03

How do you pre-qualify candidates?

All candidates that apply to join Nixa.io have to complete and pass our pre-qualification process. We receive over 200 applications every week, but only 5% of the candidates pass the process and become a part of the platform. The first step is a technical test developed by engineers with the purpose of checking technical skills and abilities. Candidates have to score above 85% to proceed. The second step is a video call and we use this screening interview to discuss the candidate's previous experiences and preferences for his/her next job. We also check the candidate's English level, communication skills, and remote readiness.
04

What does the talent pool look like?

Currently, we have around 500+ active remote developers in our talent pool. Almost all candidates are located in Europe and quite equally spread amongst the European countries. We are currently working on expanding our talent pool to additional time zones and areas. All of our candidates have experience with modern technologies (React.js, Typescript, Node.js, Java, Go, Python, PHP, RoR) but their level of experience can range from 1 to 20+ years of experience. Some of them might have experience working remotely, while others are looking to make the switch and ready to commit to it.
05

How does the recruitment process look?

After a contract is signed and we've conducted an onboarding call to explore your needs, you will be given access to a shortlist of candidates that match your requirements within 48 hours. Then, you will be given 48 hours to review these candidates and let us know which ones you want to meet for a first interview. We’ll assist you in the process of setting up interviews if needed and guide you through the process to ensure a quality hire within 2 weeks. The candidate will be hired directly by your company. If there is a need for it, we can also assist you with contract preparation or other additional needs.
06

How much will Nixa.io be involved in our recruitment process?

Nixa.io is currently in an early stage where we want to learn as much as possible through our collaboration with both developers and candidates. This means that we would like to be as closely attached to the process as possible, without interfering. All members of the Nixa.io team are experienced tech recruiters — so we are quite familiar with the recruitment process and the actions needed both before and after each step of the process. We are flexible and open to customize the process and our own involvement so that it provides as much value as possible for you.
07

How do we sign an employment contract with a candidate?

Most of the companies that we work with, sign candidates on a B2B (self-employed) contract. It’s up to you to decide the length of the contract, but most companies sign a renewable 12-month contract directly with the candidate. This means that you and the candidate decide on a fixed monthly salary and the candidate will invoice your company directly every month. The candidates normally have their own legal entity that they invoice from and they handle all taxes themselves. We would be happy to provide you with more information regarding this setup or alternatives to it if you need it.
08

What information do you need in order to provide us with access to candidates?

Before we give you access to the shortlist, we would like to get to know your company and team setup. Usually, we set up a video call with your CTO or hiring manager to learn more about the company and your current needs. After that, we are usually good to go. You can also fill out the form on our website if you prefer to skip the call and get started right away.
09

What's the price?

During this early phase, we offer a discounted price to all of our customers. We operate with a success fee only, meaning that it’s a freemium service until a hire is made. You will only be charged when you hire one or more developers from Nixa.io. Normally we charge a % of the candidate's estimated yearly remuneration, but we also offer other price and payment plans. We’ll be happy to discuss this further over a call with our sales team.
10

How do I sign up as a customer on your platform?

You can book a demo call with us or fill the form to get started. We'll provide you with access to a handpicked list of candidates within 48 hours.
